Yes, you can use your DPT card in Japan.
Japan is a supported country and JPY is a supported currency, so you can use your DPT card at any Visa-accepting merchant there. Keep in mind that a 0%-2% FX fee applies to non-USD transactions, including purchases made in JPY.
