You do not need to already own cryptocurrency to use DPT. However, the current deposit method is via stablecoins (USDC or USDT). You can purchase USDC or USDT from any cryptocurrency exchange and deposit them into your DPT account.
Fiat deposits via card and bank transfer are coming soon, which will allow you to fund your account directly with traditional currency.
